Reston Scholarship Fund – Dual Enrollment Program

The Reston Scholarship Fund Dual Enrollment Program provides tuition assistance to qualified South Lakes High School (SLHS) seniors taking James Madison University (JMU) Dual Enrollment courses at SLHS.

This program helps ensure that financial need does not prevent motivated students from earning college credit while still in high school—strengthening their preparation for college and future careers. It’s also a great way for students to save money: a three-credit Dual Enrollment course taken in high school costs about one-quarter of what the same course would cost in college, and the credits are accepted by many Virginia colleges and universities.

The number and amount of scholarships awarded each year depend on both the number of eligible applicants—as determined by Fairfax County’s Free and Reduced Meals Program—and the funds raised annually to sustain the program.
